Ladybird Beetle Larva

Ladybird Beetle Larva

Because the larvae look so much different than the more familiar adults, they are often misidentified. Larvae are elongated, dark colored and flecked with orange or yellow. Ladybird beetles are generalist predators and feed on aphids, thrips, whiteflies, mealybugs and scales. Because adults can fly, they are difficult to establish in greenhouses.
